For the second time, Amsterdam UMC and OLVG head out together as the two largest healthcare organisations in Amsterdam (with a total of about 25,000 employees)! Together for the patient and together with the patient for better healthcare. “TOGETHER we care“. By participating in the Pride canal parade, we want to show that together we are committed to good inclusive healthcare. To provide the best and most appropriate care, we take into account what makes us different and unique. Just like our staff, every patient in our hospitals is allowed to be themselves. Therefore, our boat warmly welcomes patients. After all, being ill while still being able to be yourself yourself is not always self-evident. Amsterdam UMC and OLVG want to contribute to an open and inclusive atmosphere in the city, region and beyond, showing that healthcare is a place where everyone matters – patient, student or employee, and with consideration for everyone’s religious, cultural, ethnic and, of course, sexual and gender identity! Because it is only by being open to the lived experiences, perspectives and needs of our patients, staff, students and other hospital visitors that our commitment to good, engaged and inclusive care comes together as a whole.
