Be you, be unique @ASML: where technology meets magic

We all make use of ASML technology in the electronics that we use every day: from smartphones, PCs, gaming consoles, and electric cars, to enjoying high-quality, on-demand streaming services. ASML is the only company on the planet that provides the EUV lithography machines needed to make the most advanced processor chips that we need today and tomorrow. ASML does not make the chips themselves but the machines that make the chips. With the current chip shortages, the need for ASML machines has never been higher.

Our engineers have diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives, but work together as innovators on ASML’s cutting-edge technology. Our boat is a celebration of our diverse workforce: whether LGBTIQ+ or straight, male, female, or non-binary, young or experienced, neurotypical or atypical, each of us is unique and makes a unique contribution. We value each other and rely on each other. We care. Together, we push the known boundaries of physics to an almost magical extent. This is reflected in our boat design, that not only symbolizes our people and technology but also our unique place in the world.

Our revolutionary technology makes use of Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) light, which has a wavelength of 13.5 nanometers*. It is not only invisible to the human eye, but it is also absorbed by all natural substances including air. Our EUV machines make use of a vacuum and the flattest mirrors in the world to guide the EUV light to the wafer. This unique technology is represented by the reflective outfits of the models and performers on the platform.

ASML has approximately 32,000 employees worldwide. Its headquarters are in Veldhoven, North Brabant. It is the most important Dutch company that you’ve never heard of.
