BLCKHS Amsterdam by DJ Natarcia – Unity in Diversity

We proudly join the Canal Pride this year. At the musical helm is DJ Natarcia, a fixture in the scene for 37 years. We bring the spirit of the early ’90s house clubs—like the Havana and the Eye—to life and celebrate together in a mix of young and forever young. Our boat is an ode to clubs, party people and entertainers who shaped this scene. It’s a melting pot of cultures and generations. With 110 spots on board, it becomes an international party where freedom, fun, unity & diversity are central.

Objectives

Unity in Diversity is our compass: a floating dancefloor where cultures, identities and generations become one. Here everyone can be themselves while keeping their own identity. For decades house has brought people together, regardless of age, skin colour or sexual orientation. A wide queer community gathers here, from drag queens and trans people to Bears, the leather scene and performers.

With love and respect for our queer elders and the strength of diverse diasporas, including South American and African communities, we want to be an example for anyone who still cannot, may not, or does not dare to be themselves. Our presence is celebratory, but also meaningful: freedom is not a given.

Music & audience interaction

Natarcia’s Blackhouse sound blends remixes of disco, R&B and club classics, current tunes and influences from Latin, Brazilian and Afro house. Together with a vocalist, percussionist and dancers, we create an energetic, festive show with choreography everyone can join. Expect spontaneous moments with our divas and showboys—here everyone shines!

Boat styling

A South American look with Latin American, Caribbean and Surinamese influences in white and sparkling silver, with Strelitzia colours and disco balls. This beautiful colourful flower is our figurehead, symbolising freedom, pride and diversity and appears throughout the decor. There is a lounge for people with reduced mobility. Toilets are also available.

Dress code

Sparkling white and silver with bling and more bling is the look! Want to show your roots in colourful dress? Please do! (koto, djellaba, Brazilian carnival, lederhosen) as long as it sparkles.

Party Peeps

Our passengers come from a rich club history, with roots in clubs like the Havana, the Roxy, the Eye, Gay Palace, and the Cuckoosnest.
