In a time when the world feels deeply divided, UNITY is a meaningful and important theme for World Pride. Fire Department Amsterdam-Amstelland is an organisation where many different people fulfil different roles at different locations. But however we serve, we work together as one organisation to support everyone in the community who needs us. Our mission could not succeed without unity. This World Pride we want to show the world that when we stand together, no one has to stand alone. We are proud that this is possible at the fire service. This year the theme for the fireboat is Visible and Brave Together.
Participating in Pride events is a great opportunity to show the fire service’s inclusive values to a wider audience. Roze in Rood and Fire Department Amsterdam-Amstelland demonstrate during Pride that the fire service is an open and welcoming organisation for all LGBTI people and that we are always there to help everyone.
*Roze in Rood is the internal network within Fire Service Netherlands for LGBTI employees of the fire service. We are a very large organisation with diversity not only in people but also in roles! From from the office to the streets fighting fires, we are proud to represent and support the wide group that makes up the fire service. We stand here as members, allies, friends and family of all our LGBTI colleagues. We also want to show the world that at the fire service everyone is not only welcome, but that we are here for everyone!
