After previous successful, colourful appearances at Pride Amsterdam, Café ’t Achterom once again shows what a small Hague pub can do on a grand scale.
WorldPride Amsterdam carries the theme #unity this year – the strength that arises when all people, loves and identities come together. There’s no better place for that than Café ‘t Achterom – a spot in The Hague where everyone can be themselves.
This year Café ‘t Achterom chose a magical theme for the boat: The Wizard of Oz. Like Dorothy, we discover that the path we follow ultimately brings us to what truly matters: one another. This year we sail with one clear message: “We are (all) family”
Our boat shines in emerald green and gold, a proud nod to The Hague. Our own Dorothy will take you over the rainbow, bringing charisma, glitter and, above all, plenty of Hague charm. Together with an ensemble of colourful characters she brings the enchantment of The Wizard of Oz to life.
Musically, we’ll make it a party with a mix of Wizard classics like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and queer anthems like “We Are Family” — a musical celebration that will have even the Tin Man dancing.
