Colourful Pride, also known as “Colourful Pride – for the People,” is dedicated to creating safer experiences and spaces for marginalized groups within the LGBTQIA+ community. We achieve this through various sports activities, like The Colourful Pride Games, Women’s Football tournament, The Fight Qlub, and through empowerment and resilience workshops, as well as festive events that strengthen connections between people.

At Colourful Pride, it’s fundamental that everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community, especially marginalized groups, can and may be themselves, regardless of sex, gender, ethnicity, color, origin, culture, orientation, or any disabilities.

One of our highlights this year is the Colourful Pride x Ms.Jones Pride boat during the 2024 Canal Parade. Here, we celebrate love and diversity and provide visibility and space for the bicultural queer woman. We are proud of our collaboration with Ms. Jones, a Community and Party for lesbian women, particularly bicultural lesbian women.

Participating in the boat parade shows the participants that they are allowed to exist, that they are seen, and that they have just as much right to take up space and be their wonderful selves. We hope that our presence encourages the audience to feel recognized and empowered.

During the Canal Parade, everyone on board on the Colourful Pride x Ms.Jones Pride Boot may bring their own flag of origin. We encourage everyone to show where they come from, who they are, and to highlight that, although we may differ from the person next to us, together we demonstrate the power of diversity and unity. Especially now, in these polarizing times, we show that our differences should not be barriers to being together but are instead a beautiful addition to our unity. How we will express this year’s theme “Together” remains a surprise for now, but one thing is certain: it will be Colourful!
