Cordaan is a healthcare organization in Amsterdam and surrounding area’s. We provide care, assistance and support to people with mental, psychical and/or psychiatric disabilities. We also provide a range of support for numerous citizens such as the youth and senior population. Thanks to our 6000 (care taking) employees and 2000 volunteers we are able to aid and assist the most vulnerable citizens in the community.

The employees of Cordaan work with citizens from diverse backgrounds, lifestyles and offer care to the dynamic and divers population of Amsterdam and surrounding area’s. Cordaan is a voice for citizens who are less visible in society. Thanks to our differences, we learn and inspire each other. With our participation during canal pride we want to celebrate our colourfulness, diversity and pride on this important day. Cordaan is a representation of the city and its citizens and we need each other to live together.

Together
This year the organization Burennetwerk Amsterdam will sail with us. Cordaan and Burennetwerk have a close working relationship. Burennetwerk Amsterdam provides guidance for community members. They also help an offering hand for caretakers, guardians and other professionals who are assisting a citizen in need.

Burennetwerk Amsterdam is also a matchmaking organization. They connect neighbors and help neighborhoods thrive by empowerment programs such as neighborhood transportation and social networks. Community members that want to help out are called “good neighbors” and are matched to citizens who have a variety of requests for assistance. In the Amsterdam area there around 1700 good neighbors that offer their help.
