The Zaanse Regenboog Foundation was founded to, among other things, promote the visibility, acceptance and well-being of the lgbtiqa+ community in the Zaan region.

• Improving the visibility, well-being, acceptance and participation of lgbtiqa+ people people, as well as supporting people who experience problems in coping and express their feelings and identity in Zaanstad and surrounding areas.
• The Zaanse Regenboog wants an open culture and safe living environment in Zaanstad. An inclusive society in which everyone feels at home.
• De Zaanse Regenboog organizes activities and provides information about sexual and gender diversity.
The theme of our boat is in line with the theme TOGETHER – Celebrate Diversity – Zaanstreek in all colors. The theme of our annual ZaanPride in June this year is ‘Celebrate Diversity’. The theme of Pink Saturday 2025 in Zaanstad will be ‘Zaanstreek in all colours’. Put together is this theme of our boat that will be on the side of the boat.
Our community is characterized by great diversity, all letters of lgbtiqa+, young to old, inclusive of each other. Through our personal colorful outfits and flags, we are visible and recognizable together as queer, gay, drag, transgender, lesbian, bi, non-binary, intersex, and fetish.
We take about 30 different identity flags with us on the boat. We celebrate our diversity, stronger and more combative thanks to our differences. For ourselves and for others with a festive and colorful, powerful and connecting signal. It is also an invitation to everyone to come and celebrate with us for Pink Saturday in Zaanstad on June 28, 2025 (date Stonewall Riots).
We perform our anthem ‘ZaanPride’ to the tune of ‘Go West’ by the Pet Shop Boy’s with live artists, together with a colorful flag choreography. Recurring in the song is the phrase ‘TOGETHER‘ (we together). We invite the audience on the sidelines to sing this with us to reinforce the theme of Amsterdam Pride 2024.
