Samen werken, samen Rijk!

The Rijksoverheid is the largest employer in the Netherlands, with 140,000 employees. Civil servants from our organization work throughout the country, and abroad, including places where the LGBTIQ+ community is less accepted.

Dutch Government Pride (DGP) is the umbrella network and platform of LGBTIQ+ government employees. We are committed to LGBTIQ+ employees all year round, together with the ministries and their networks. The Declaration of Amsterdam is the guiding principle here. Our participation during the Canal Parade is of great importance for the visibility of the LGBTIQ+ community among civil servants. Our boat consists of a representation of almost all ministries and executive organizations of the central government.

The theme of the organization of this year’s Amsterdam Pride is Together. That is of course an important part of the DGP boat every year. This year again, colleagues from all kinds of ministries will come together on our boat to radiate the same message: together we are one Rijksoverheid and we stand for inclusion! We want to convey that everyone is welcome, matters and is an enrichment to our community. Our slogan for this day is: “samen werken, samen Rijk”.

As always, our DJ provides swinging music. This year we also welcome 2 colorful guests on our boat: 2 Queens from the Diverse Agency underline our message and will create even more atmosphere and interaction with the public. We must, especially now, show ourselves: Together!
