Description

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is the organisation in the European Union responsible for the scientific evaluation and safety monitoring of medicines. We work for every patient and are ‘United for health’.

As the EU’s medicines guardian, we oversee innovative and life-changing treatments – from antiviral drugs to therapies for cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases.

Around 1,000 people work at the EMA, representing all 27 EU Member States. Through collaboration with 50 national health authorities, we also draw on a network of 4,000 scientific experts across Europe.

Diversity and inclusion are essential to us. Our team includes people from diverse backgrounds and we are very proud of our active LGBTQIA+ community. As a symbol that everyone is welcome, the Pride flag flies at our entrance all year round. Together we work for a healthier, safer and more inclusive Europe for everyone.
