The Friendship Sports Centre, home of Only Friends, is a unique place in Amsterdam North where sport, development and fun come together. Every week more than 900 children and young people with disabilities take part in as many as 32 different sports. For us it’s about taking part, growing and above all: being yourself.

During the Canal Parade we join the canal parade with a message that perfectly reflects what we stand for every day:

You are good just as you are.

On our boat are the children and young people from our day programme Friends at Work and athletes from Only Friends. In our day programme young people get the chance to gain work experience, discover their talents and take steps toward greater independence. On the sports field it’s about fun, confidence and becoming stronger together.

What makes the Friendship Sports Centre special is that we focus on what is possible. In a safe and stimulating environment everyone has the space to develop in their own way. The emphasis is not on the disability, but on the possibilities.

The Friendship Sports Centre, home of Only Friends, is more than a sports venue. It’s a place where friendships form, boundaries are pushed and everyone is welcome. We can only achieve this thanks to the dedication of volunteers, donors and engaged partners.

By taking part in the Canal Parade we show what our organisation stands for. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s sport, work or shared experiences: everyone belongs with us.
