Self-discovery starts online. For many people the internet is the place where you dare to search, ask questions and gradually discover who you are. For the LGBTQ+ community that digital space is often essential — sometimes the only safe place to grow freely into yourself.
That is why KPN explicitly connects to the theme UNITY during WorldPride. Belonging is not only about being together, it’s also about having access. About being able to join in, even if you can’t be there in person.
As Official Technology partner of Pride Amsterdam, KPN contributes to that in a visible and meaningful way. Our award-winning boat, equipped with the secure and reliable technology KPN is known for, streams the WorldPride live to the whole world. That way everyone — regardless of where they live or the circumstances they face — has the chance to experience the Canal Parade online. For people in countries where openly celebrating Pride is not normal or is even risky, the livestream becomes a way to be part of that global community.
With our mission #BetterInternet and the Pride Verified campaign we are simultaneously working towards a safer, more social internet — precisely where many people’s personal journeys of discovery begin.
