CELEBRATING LIFE

This year, Amsterdam will once again be the setting for the annual Pride Amsterdam festival. The LGBT+ community celebrates the fact that you can be who you are and can love who you want. For the first time, MSD is sailing its own boat during the Canal Parade this year – with the MSD Rainbow Alliance ‘at the helm’.

MSD is the largest and most versatile drug company in the Netherlands. We work with approximately 5,000 people from our locations in Haarlem, Oss, Boxmeer and De Bilt. In the Netherlands, we develop, research, produce and package medicines and vaccines – for people and for animals. And then we export our products to more than 140 countries.

MSD is committed to an inclusive culture and open work environment where everyone can feel at home and trusted. With our active diversity policy, we celebrate differences among people. Diversity and inclusion are embedded in our daily work. We have a policy, there are KPIs, an annual D&I month, and we have networking groups and activities by and for colleagues: the Next Gen Network, the Women’s Network, the League of Employees of African Descent and the Rainbow Alliance.

MSD is fully behind the “My Gender, My Pride” theme – read more about a colleague who recently came out of the closet as transgender via this link: https://msd.nl/stories/creeren-van-een-veilige-werkplek-voor-transgender-collegas/. Very exciting, with an important role for supervisors and colleagues.

It is fantastic that we can join the Canal Parade on 6 August with an MSD boat. A highlight in the existence of the MSD Rainbow Alliance, and a wonderful way to show that everyone is welcome at MSD and can be themselves.
