Parnassia Groep – Every mind is a rainbow

With pride, Parnassia Groep sails along this year during the Canal Parade! As one of the largest mental healthcare organisations in the Netherlands, we will show during the WorldPride that diversity, inclusion and mental health are inseparably linked.

With around 13,500 professionals we treat and support approximately 180,000 people each year with psychological complaints or addiction problems. We do this from our core values: involved, connecting and optimistic. We believe in a society where everyone can participate and no one is excluded. A society where you can be yourself, in who you are and in how you feel.

The likelihood of psychological complaints is demonstrably higher within the LGBTQIA+ community, while openness and acknowledgement are not yet a given. That is why we find it important to be visible as an organisation during WorldPride. Through our participation we want to break down stigma, strengthen connection and show that mental health should be talkable.

Everyone has their own story, identity and way of thinking and feeling. Those differences are what make us unique as people. Together they form a colourful whole. That is exactly what Pride stands for, and what we work towards every day.

Concept: Every mind is a Rainbow

Our boat concept “Every mind is a rainbow” celebrates the power of mental diversity. Each person thinks, feels and experiences differently. On our boat we bring that variety to life.

All participants wear white clothing as a symbol of equality, openness and togetherness. Above that appear expressive, colourful headpieces and face decoration. A metaphor for unique expressions of thoughts, identities and inner worlds. Each headpiece is different, just as every mind is unique.

Together the boat forms a moving artwork in which mental diversity is visibly celebrated as something that connects us.
