Pride University is once again joining the Canal Parade! Since 2019, Pride University is the collaboration between the LGBTIAQ+ organizations of the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Inholland, ROCvA and the University of Amsterdam. On August 3, you will see students and employees celebrating that you can be who you are and love who you love. At Pride University we believe that you can grow and develop best when you can be yourself. We want to put our students in the spotlight, but also the teachers and staff who ensure that these educational institutions are a great learning environment and safe space. That’s why our motto this year is: Together we grow!

We will share exactly how this theme is incorporated on the boat and how we will decorate the boat about a month before we set sail, so keep your eyes open. What we can say is that we have three very special guests: Annefleur Schipper, Vera Siemon and Liza van den Brink will be our DJs and are turning the party up to 11! You”ll recognize them from the podcast De Lesbische Liga and the Iconic duo from the queer club nights in Tivoli. This year they are the figurehead for our fantastic party.

Before August 3, you can join us for our annual lecture series in The Social Hub. This year we are organizing lectures about being queer in sports, the history of the Canal Parade and Damn, Honey! Follow us on social media and we will keep you informed of when you can register. The lectures at The Social Hub are free and accessible to all, but tickets go fast – so keep an eye out for when to register so you can get your hands on tickets.
