Description
At PwC we aim to contribute to public trust and help solve important societal challenges. We see it as our role to deliver quality in assurance, tax and advisory services. More than 5,700 people work together at PwC in the Netherlands.
Our people make the difference: by looking beyond borders, valuing differences and putting inclusivity and diversity at the centre, we create an environment where everyone can be themselves.
To support this, we founded the Shine network in 2007. Shine is PwC’s international LGBTIQ+ network, for colleagues, clients and partners who actively contribute to an inclusive workplace. Every sexual orientation and gender identity is recognised and respected here, with a strong focus on diversity and respect.
Shine supports PwC’s inclusivity strategy by raising awareness, encouraging dialogue and organising a variety of activities. The network aims for a workplace where employees can be themselves, regardless of their background. We want (young) talent to feel at home and safe from the start of their careers, without having to adapt or hide their identities.
With Shine our LGBTIQ+ colleagues highlight important topics affecting our diverse community. Think of:
Since 2012 we have proudly taken part in the Canal Parade.
In 2021 we introduced transition leave and made our employment terms inclusive of all forms of parenthood (rainbow families).
In 2023 we began optionally collecting information on work challenges, gender identity and sexual orientation to aggregate the data and produce anonymised reports for analysis purposes, such as pay gap and recruitment, retention and attrition flows.
We are proud of the Advocate rating (+90%) in the Workplace Pride Global Benchmark, which we use to monitor and strengthen our strategy.
World Pride 2026 in Amsterdam adds an extra dimension this year. We are pleased to support this special event and to promote: Shine – The place for every story, united as one. This demonstrates our commitment to advancing inclusion and diversity both in the workplace and in society. The theme highlights the importance of collaboration and solidarity in creating an environment where everyone can be themselves and shine.
