One World – One Love / Unity in our Kingdom

The reason for our participation in WorldPride '26 is the growing social polarisation around identity, equality and human rights. In many parts of the world, hard-won freedoms are under threat. That is why it is essential to continue investing in visibility, dialogue and inclusive connection.

Stichting 3 Layers works at the intersection of culture, heritage and social impact. We believe queer storytelling can bring people together and deepen empathy. We therefore see Pride not only as a celebration, but as a powerful social platform where freedom, safety and solidarity come together.

Our motivation to take part is therefore also to strengthen social cohesion, encourage intercultural dialogue and make inclusion visible. With our contribution we want to show that UNITY is not an abstract ideal but a daily practice of collaboration, respect and shared responsibility.

In 2015 the Kingdom boat sailed for the first time under the motto "One Kingdom, One Love". More than 10 years later, during WorldPride, we build on this with "ONE WORLD · ONE LOVE": a renewed edition that not only celebrates but also reflects. Although the Kingdom forms a single whole (UNITY), safety, acceptance and rights for queer people vary greatly by (is-)land.

The boat becomes a floating installation that serves as both stage and social statement. Performers, artists, community leaders and activists from the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba bring together their stories and perspectives (such as identity, visibility, solidarity and connection).

"ONE WORLD · ONE LOVE" both confronts and connects, inviting the public to consider who is seen and heard. The project positions Pride as a global human-rights platform and Amsterdam as a connecting city within the Kingdom and far beyond.
