Unity Starts with U-man Nature
For more than 15 years Tess van Zwol Pride has been part of the Amsterdam Canal Parade, where community, music and activism come together. For the second year in a row Tess van Zwol Pride and OUTLOUD Music Festival join forces, after winning first prize for Best Design at the Canal Parade two years running, in 2024 and 2025.
This year the boat welcomes a special international collaboration with The City of West Hollywood and WeHo Pride. The Mayor, Vice Mayor and City Council of West Hollywood will come aboard, connecting queer communities across continents.
In a time when the world can feel more divided than connected, Pride shows that true connection always finds a way.
In a world that’s getting faster, more digital and artificial, this boat brings us back to the core—our human nature. The urge to connect, move together and hold one another, just like in nature.
Because nature long ago learned what we sometimes forget. Beneath the ground forests are linked by invisible networks. Trees share nutrients, warn each other and grow stronger together.
During the Canal Parade this comes alive. The boat transforms into a living human forest, a collective ecosystem moving through Amsterdam’s canals.
We move together.
We adapt together.
We grow together.
The boat becomes a symbol of pure connection. A reminder that unity doesn’t come from systems or technology, but from people choosing each other.

The Journey Gospel Choir and Jeremy Rice will deliver a live performance that moves you. Raw energy, soul and communal singing that carries beyond the canals.
Together OUTLOUD and Tess van Zwol Pride represent thousands of people across Europe and the United States. Pride is both celebration and movement. It honors the past and makes space for the generations to come.
Because unity isn’t something we just talk about.
