Unity for the Community
Unity for the community: In these politically charged times, the hard-won rights of our rainbow community are under serious pressure. Around the world we see a decline in tolerance in general, and especially towards our LGBTIQ+ community, as those in power seize every opportunity to restrict or even erase the rights we have fought for. Even in countries we once considered steadfast allies, tolerance for our community is increasingly scarce. That is why it remains essential for us to speak up politically and make our voices heard loudly.

Unity for the community:
In these politically charged times, the hard-won rights of our rainbow community are under serious pressure.
The Pink Networks of 50PLUS, CDA, D66, PRO, Volt and VVD have again joined forces this year so that, despite our differences on many issues, we can stand together as one community during the WorldPride 2026 in Amsterdam.
Together we will not only sail on the Unity-for-the-Community boat during Canal Parade on 1 August, but we will also meet throughout the year at various activities focused on the rights, acceptance, safety and legislation affecting our beautiful rainbow community.
Our chosen theme for this year is: “Proud Politics Worldwide”, because as proud Pride representatives we want to continue working globally, together with our sister organisations in other countries, to improve the position of everyone who belongs to the LGBTIQ+ community — whether in Europe or elsewhere in the world.
We are pleased to welcome 50PLUS as a new partner this year. Since 2019 we have regularly joined the Canal Parade of Amsterdam Pride in various line-ups. We can’t wait to show on our boat in August that politics stands with the community and to celebrate Pride together.
