Description

Step into Birds of Mexico City, a photographic series by Pieter Henket in which a generation in Mexico redefines gender, identity and self-expression. Created in collaboration with stylist Chino Castilla, the works were produced in a carefully constructed studio in Mexico City, resulting in intimate, timeless portraits.

The exhibition opens during Pride Month and touches on themes such as visibility and freedom. Henket shows how his subjects see themselves and want to be seen. Through staging, light and costume, layered images emerge between identity, ritual and performance.

The series is part of Henket’s Birds project on freedom and authenticity.
