Description

LGBTQIA+ people face additional challenges. Almost half of Dutch lesbian, gay and bisexual adults and youth have at some point had thoughts of suicide. Negative reactions, bullying, violence and minority stress are unfortunately common. As a result, they are more likely to experience depression and suicidal thoughts.

To raise awareness, 113 is organising a session during the WorldPride focused on preventing suicide among LGBTQIA+ people. A trainer will guide you through what’s happening and what you can do to make it easier to talk about. Someone from the 113 helpline will also speak about the conversations they have with this community and the signs they notice. We’ll finish with a Q&A.
