At a time when space for difference seems under pressure, a group of young Amsterdam queer makers (16–24 years) explores the theme of ‘pride’. Is pride an overpowering ego that unbalances the world, or the necessary support that keeps us standing?
In the performance the players face a gigantic, constantly moving balance board. It is a physical exploration of vulnerability and strength, presenting identity as an ongoing search for balance. Before the performance you can visit the accompanying exhibition, which invites visitors to literally look through masks of shyness or feel the protective pressure of the norm.
