Welcome to the Pride Church Service. A fixture for more than fifteen years. This year’s theme is “Unite!”, chosen to express movement and dynamism — because ‘unity’ does not mean ‘uniformity’, but is always in motion, like a kaleidoscope that continually reveals new colours and patterns in which everyone who wants to join in can find recognition and connection.
The officiant this year is American Bishop Gene Robinson, who 25 years ago became the first openly gay bishop in the worldwide family of Anglican churches. A true icon!
The service is prepared by a team of committed lhbtiqa+ people together with members of the Keizersgrachtkerk congregation, led by Wielie Elhorst, the lhbtiqa+ minister of the Protestant Church Amsterdam.
