Description

Queer Power presents classic and contemporary films from countries and cultures around the world. Queer joy, queer love, queer humour and the power of uncensored self-expression are central to Eye’s summer programme, which highlights the vitality and delight of queerness. The selection of 35 titles showcases films across many genres — from comedy to moving drama, from underground experiments and magical-realistic panoramas to upbeat manifestos. Queer Power opens with a festive launch night followed by an evening about queer Amsterdam, several specials on queer coding, and collaborations with Roze Filmdagen, Kaboom Animation Festival and the Lesbische Liga. Professor Jack Halberstam (US) will give a lecture on trans embodiment.

Queer Power runs from 26 June to 02 September.
