WorldPride month: F*CKING FAIRIES
This event has ended. View the current programme
One thing is certain: you are different from others. You think differently from others, and you are treated differently.
Description
For centuries, fantasy has been a refuge for queer and neurodivergent people to escape a reality that offers them little space. We write stories and build worlds where we can face our struggles. Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen did the same. As a queer person on the spectrum, he created tales that explore obsession, masking, queer desire and his experiences with neurodiversity. The queer community has embraced stories like The Little Mermaid, and now Hawa Yakubu, Hugo de Graaf and Lou Mertens draw inspiration from them for F*CKING FAIRIES. Expect a multidisciplinary performance of dance and spoken theatre — a vivid experience that can be both overstimulating and soothing.
