Theme LOVE central to many Pride Amsterdam 2025 activities
In a world where division is increasingly present, love offers a powerful response. For Pride Amsterdam 2025 the theme LOVE takes centre stage. Pride is more relevant than ever. When people meet in person, talk with one another and learn from their differences, we become stronger together in the fight for equal rights. On Saturday 26 July at 12:00 everyone can join the Pride March from Amstelveld to Pride Park. Among others, Willeke Alberti will help open the event, and there will be dozens of activities for all ages — from sports and games to discovery and connection.
Pride March starting from Amstelveld
Amstelveld is a historic location. On 25 June 1977 the International Lesbian Alliance organised a demonstration there against US anti-gay activist Anita Bryant. From that demonstration the Roze Zaterdagen later emerged. We keep that history alive and honour it by starting the Pride March there for the second time. “Learning from the past is more important than ever. As Pride Amsterdam we see, hear and feel that our community is deeply concerned. Making activism visible in many forms is what Pride provides a platform for when it comes to LGBTIQA+ rights,” says Lucien Spee de Castillo Ruiz, director of Pride Amsterdam.
The Pride March begins at Amstelveld, with gathering from 11:00 and departure at 12:00, proceeding via Utrechtsestraat, Reguliersdwarsstraat, Vijzelgracht and Weteringschans to Vondelpark. The march will be accompanied by several bands, sound trucks and a small train so people with disabilities can participate.
Visibility for the entire rainbow community
Pride Park will again host many sports and games, demonstrations, information stands and performances. Watching, discovering and experiencing are central at Pride Park. A notable newcomer is the fetish community, which will introduce people to this often unfamiliar world in an accessible way. Performances include Willeke Alberti, Karin Bloemen, Paul Morris and BryanB, and Pride ambassadors Rik and Aimée (acrobatics), Janey Jacké (drag), Gwen Dalin (youth) and Sem Jansen (singer/songwriter).

In the run-up to WorldPride in 2026 the community is already busy expanding the programme. That means this edition also features many new activities. These can be found via the agenda on the Pride Amsterdam website. With several filtering options there’s something across the city for diverse audiences. Not sure what to choose? Theme 2025: LOVE
In a world where division is increasingly present, love offers a powerful response. For Pride 2025 the theme LOVE is central, not only as a symbol of romance but also as a foundation for connection, understanding and solidarity. Love captivates, connects, supports and prevails. LOVE is multifaceted and stands for attraction between people, the support people give one another, and the tireless shared struggle for equal rights.
