Bi+Pride has become the newest addition to Pride Amsterdam this summer. The committee is for those who fall beyond a single gender and identify as bi+: for people who call themselves bi, queer, pan, fluid, or flux — and for those who prefer not to label themselves and just live it. Whatever labels people use (or don’t), it makes no difference to us: we strive for a future beyond the binary oppositions M/F, straight/gay.
Bi+ people are an integral part of Pride; they are more than 1 million Dutch people and we want to make this diverse group visible. On television, during the Canal Parade, through serious conversations and debates. But we also want to offer them spaces for great drinks and parties. Whether they choose to come out (or not), or live a life that appears straight or gay: all of this to celebrate their bi+ identity during Pride.
