Line-up announced, tickets on sale, preparing the schedule
On Tuesday 4 August the Museumplein will be transformed into Pride Village. For the first time in history, the iconic square will be the heart of Pride. For five days, events will take place here as part of WorldPride, including three concerts. One of the absolute highlights of this special week is the large-scale ‘UNITY Concert’, which takes place on the evening of Tuesday 4 August at the Museumplein. International headliners for the evening are Beth Ditto and Billy Porter.
The opening concert at the Museumplein is special and will make history. Never before has such a large-scale Pride concert been held at this location. The UNITY Concert runs from 17:30 to 23:00 and is also the official opening of Pride Village at the Museumplein. The evening will be presented by Envy Peru and Conchita Wurst, two internationally loved Pride icons who will guide the audience through an evening of music, connection and celebration.
Beth Ditto and Billy Porter as international headliners
Beth Ditto rose to worldwide fame as the frontwoman of the American indie-rock band The Gossip and became a prominent queer and body-positivity icon. With her powerful voice, activism and striking stage presence, she has long been one of the most influential artists within the international LGBTQIA+ community.
Billy Porter is a globally celebrated singer, actor and performer who became known for his Emmy-winning role in the series ‘Pose’ on Netflix. He has also shone on Broadway in productions such as ‘Kinky Boots’ and has become a cultural icon thanks to his boundary-pushing fashion and activism for inclusivity and visibility.
Dutch talent and New Amsterdam Orchestra
Alongside international acts and Tara McDonald with the WorldPride anthem, there is also plenty of space for Dutch talent. Among others, Berget Lewis, Emma Kok, Paul Morris and Zulu Green will perform during the concert. All artists will be accompanied by the prestigious New Amsterdam Orchestra, creating a unique musical experience where pop, soul, classical and live performance come together.
