Omschrijving

In celebration of Pride and the 25th anniversary of marriage equality in the Netherlands, Pride Photo and De Hallen present an evening on the history of the Pride movement, queer visibility, and the power of photography.
From the Pride marches of 1980s New York to Roze Zaterdag and Amsterdam Pride of today – photographer Chantal Regnault, and writer, and editor of NRC Magazine, Menno Sedee explore the importance of preserving queer histories and the role of visibility in inspiring community and the role photography plays in celebrating, documenting, and protecting queer cultures.
At a time when LGBTQIA+ rights are increasingly under pressure and queer visibility remains contested, photography remains a powerful tool for affirmation, visibility, and resistance.
