The Open Space Contemporary Art Museum (OSCAM) presents the pop-up exhibition ‘All American Girls’, a collection of beautiful and loving portraits of drag queens, transgenders, and female impersonators in the early 90’s by the late American photographer Remsen Wolff (1940 – 1998).
Remsen himself was struggling with his queer identity in the ’90s, and started to use the name Vivienne (Viv) Blum. He shot a groundbreaking series in which he captured the beauty of all the girls that were bold enough to be their proud selves. These portraits were recently shown for the first time by FotoFestival Naarden and now move to the museum at the heart of Ganzenhoef.
The expo will be visible from the start till the end of Pride Amsterdam (July 27th till August 3rd).
On July 25th from 6PM till 8PM, OSCAM celebrates the opening of the expo All American Girls and the start of Amsterdam Pride, and you are more than welcome to celebrate along!
